1.at the speed of 以……的速度
【例句】MOVING at the speed of life
這是紐約大街上到處可見的一幅廣告，是宣傳EMS(急救)的，大意如下：
人命關(guān)天，分秒必爭(zhēng)。
【詞語(yǔ)辨析】at the speed of, at a speed of
一般可互換
at the speed of 強(qiáng)調(diào)速度是持續(xù)的，
而at a speed of 強(qiáng)調(diào)一個(gè)瞬間的速度，是一個(gè)點(diǎn)上面的
2.at the thought of 當(dāng)……想到
【例句】Jenny smiled at the thought of the evening ahead. 珍妮因之前那個(gè)晚上的想法笑了。
【總結(jié)】at the thought of 介詞短語(yǔ)，后接名詞，動(dòng)名詞，代詞等。
3.at the top of 在……的頂上
【例句】At the top of the hill you looked down on the peacefull landscape. 在山頂上你俯瞰那寧?kù)o的風(fēng)景。
【拓展】in the top 在頂部的內(nèi)部
at the top 在頂部這個(gè)范圍之內(nèi)
on the top 在頂部的表面
例如：
你去爬山，快到山頂?shù)臅r(shí)候，叫at the top of the mountain;
你爬到山頂了，站在最高的點(diǎn)上，叫on the top of the mountain;
你發(fā)現(xiàn)石頭縫里有一條通道，沿著通道往下走了幾步，來(lái)到一個(gè)溶洞里(這個(gè)溶洞還是在山的相對(duì)頂部)，叫in the tpo of the mountain.
4.attempt to do 嘗試去做、企圖去做
【例句】Don't attempt to do it by yourself. 不要企圖一個(gè)人去做這件事。
【總結(jié)】attempt后可加不定式，如attempt to do，也可加介詞和動(dòng)名詞勾結(jié)，如attempt at doing，不過(guò)習(xí)慣上，不定式的用法更為普遍。
【詞語(yǔ)辨析】attempt to do，attempt doing
attempt to do是表示具體的嘗試做什么，是很具體的一次性行為;
attempt doing是指比較一貫性的，長(zhǎng)期以來(lái)的。
5.attend to sth.
注意;對(duì)……關(guān)注
【例句】I have my business to attend to.
我有事要料理。
【總結(jié)】attend to及物動(dòng)詞，不用于被動(dòng)語(yǔ)態(tài)。
【拓展】attend at 出席，參加，attend to 照料，處理
e.g. I'll attend to the matter.
我來(lái)處理此事。
attend on/upon 護(hù)理;侍候;attend to 注意，傾聽;致力(于)
e.g.She didn't attend to what I was saying.
她并不注意聽我所說(shuō)的話。
